Erwartet Korn-Fans ein Oldschool-Comeback?
Brian „Head“ Welch, Gitarrist von Korn gab nun in einem Interview mit Bakersfield.com bekannt, dass die Band an ihrem 12. Studioalbum arbeitet und es außerdem wohl auch einen Management- und Labelwechsel geben wird. Viel interessanter fielen aber einige Aussagen von Welch aus, in denen er betonte dass dies die erste Platte seit seinem Ausstieg vor 11 Jahren sei, in dem er und James „Munky“ Shaffer wieder härtere Songs zusammen schreiben:
“ The new record just with me and Munky being back together, we’ve had three years to tour and jam together and so we really came together and focused heavily on guitars on this record. So it’s going to be a guitar-heavy Korn record and it sounds … I believe what the true fans have been waiting for for a long time. I just feel like that they’re going to be really satisfied and excited about this album. We are pumped. „
Zwar hat die Band nach Heads‘ Rückkehr bereits eine gemeinsame Platte veröffentlicht, welche bei den Fans aber eher bescheiden ankam. In einem früherem Interview mit Billboard.com klingt es, als wäre das Songwriting damals etwas überstürzt gewesen:
“ The last record that we did was me coming back. I saw them at a show, played one song with them, and a few weeks later, was in the studio with them writing new songs. We didn’t have any time to hang out. To live with everyone on the road and to function in the band, with the fans and business together for three years, we really connected and felt comfortable.“
Vielleicht bekommen Korn Fans endlich wieder ein Album, auf dass sie sich freuen können.
